Friendly Aquaponics Resource Map Survey
Picture a standard Google Map; zoom in on your state and you’ll see a bunch of color-coded balloons. Zoom in closer and pick one of the balloons; and discover that they are your aquaponic neighbors: commercial growers, backyard enthusiasts, aquaponic equipment or supplies sellers, greenhouse sales companies, teachers and students, researchers, teachers at community colleges and universities, and other people involved in aquaponics. Click again, and that person’s information “pops up” next to it, just as it does for a business on Google Maps when you click on it. This is the “Friendly Aquaponics Resource Map”, or FARM.
FARM is an ongoing labor of love. We are doing this at no charge; it will be on our website as soon as we have 100 responses from the survey on this webpage. FARM will make aquaponics easier for YOU; so you can network with like-minded people near you who are doing aquaponics; so you can find aquaponics resources such as fish hatcheries, planting supplies, aquatic supplies, and other aquaponics equipment suppliers near your location; and so you can share your knowledge about aquaponics with others.
The purpose of being listed in the Friendly Aquaponics Locator Map is so that others may contact you. If you only wish to supply your name and email address, and do not want to give out your phone number or street address, that is perfectly OK; simply don’t fill those in.
However, you may want your business name, phone number and email displayed if you want people know you are interested in networking with others, or if you are selling fingerlings, aquaponic systems, or other items; this is free advertising for your business!
Although we will take all reasonable precautions to only allow real entities using their real names and confirmable email addresses to enter information on the Map, we are not responsible for verifying the identity of individuals or businesses included in the FARM.
All information supplied in the FARM survey will become public; it is the responsibility of the user to fill in only the information they feel comfortable releasing to the public. When you fill in the survey for the Map, you are giving us permission to publish the responses you supply on the Map. Please make sure your responses to the Map Survey are correct; because we will charge a fee for changes requested after the Map is published.
Because our intention is to publish the most accurate and honest information available, we reserve the right to remove entries which we determine to be fraudulent or misleading. We ask for your help in ensuring the integrity of the entries as well; if you come across a FARM Map entry that you know to be less than completely truthful, please email us and let us know, and we’ll investigate.
We assume that you’re using fish that are legal to possess, and are growing vegetables that are legal to grow and possess under State and Federal law. We are not responsible for any business dealings, personal relationships, or bad dates that result from you contacting someone on the FARM. Act like an adult: identify, contact, and communicate with the other FARM listings responsibly.
